Super Sedan: the 2013 Malibu Reveal
Posted by admin on April 21, 2011
How do you improve on a North American Car of the Year? Combine the fuel efficient technology of the Chevrolet Cruze Eco, the aesthetics of the Chevrolet Camaro, and the reliability of the Chevrolet Malibu to create the new 2013 Chevrolet Malibu. It’s the Malibu you know and love– just better. It could be your son or daughter’s first car from your Chevrolet dealer of St. Louis because of its fuel efficiency and safety, or your joy ride for the weekend with 190 horsepower.
General Motors pulled the covers off their new Malibu on Monday, before the vehicle’s official introduction at the Shanghai Motor Show, revealing new designs both inside and out. The reveal is leaving a lot of drivers ready to switch to what Facebook fans are already calling an “American icon.”
In combining the technology and appeal of some of its other models, Chevrolet has created one “super car” in the midsize sedan category. The new engine, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder, will be more powerful and more efficient than its previous four-cylinder engine. With a more aerodynamic body and the same grille air shutters from the Chevrolet Cruze Eco, you can expect some smart improvements to the MPG. We can’t forget the squared-off tail lamps, which reminds some of the Camaro.
It might bear a slight resemblance to the Camaro, but you can put your 16-year-old behind the wheel with no worries about safety. They won’t be getting into any accidents with lane departure and forward collision warning systems.
On the inside, Chevy has added more trunk space and four cubic feet more passenger space, a seven-inch touch screen radio face, and MyLink, a voice command connectivity system that hooks you up to your phone, radio, MP3 player, and internet radio like Pandora. Check out Chevrolet’s video on the Malibu and see these features for yourself. Do the words “family road trip” suddenly sound more appealing? The new 2012 Malibu will be available in January at your GM certified dealer of St. Louis.
