Get Ready: It’s “Staycation” Time

Posted by admin on May 5, 2011

Summer means a few things: the air conditioner is on, the kids are out of school, and it’s vacation time. You could hit up Disney World or the Grand Canyon again, but with airline prices getting higher every day, what you need this summer is a “staycation.” It’s like a vacation, but in town.

This summer, instead of driving to the airport and catching that flight, hop in the car instead and take some time to enjoy St. Louis. Whether you just moved here or you’ve lived here your whole life, there’s always something new to see or something worth revisiting. For your summer staycation, Johnny Londoff Chevrolet would like to propose a few day trips worth checking out. So grab those sunglasses, the family, and jump in that Johnny Londoff Chevrolet, because you’re staying in town.

Forest Park- We’ve all been there. In fact, we’ve all probably been there too many times to remember. But chances are you haven’t checked out all 1,293 acres of it. Make a day of it by putting together a picnic basket and taking the family, the dog, your bike, or whatever out to the park and get exploring.

Grants Farm- From wild animals to the famous Budweiser Clydesdale Stables, there’s a reason why the U.S. Family Travel Guide Zagat Survey ranked Grant’s Farm as one of the best family attractions nationwide. Get up close and personal with a 2,000 lb Clydesdale or spot Zebras in the deer park. Best of all? It’s free.

Museums- If you live in St. Louis, maybe you haven’t bothered to visit any of the museums here. Whether it’s the Museum of Transportation, the Museum of the Dog, or the St. Louis Art Museum, you have a lot of options, many of which are free. Pick your favorite and a make a day of it. When you’re done, grab some St. Louis famous Ted Drewes or Gus’ Pretzels to top the night off!

To experience the Johnny Londoff Chevrolet difference for yourself, stop by our dealership on Interstate 270 at the Washington & Elizabeth exit in St. Louis or visit us online 24/7 at both Londoff.com and Facebook.
